The last FARRIT meeting took place this morning, January 19th, at the ICFL. Danna Angevine of the ICFL gave a valuable overview of the Idaho Digital Publications project, which aims to collect born digital state documents in pdf format, add metadata tags to them and build a digital collection using Content DM. Danna currently has over 4000 items in the database. The collection can be viewed at the Idaho Government Documents page at http://idahodocs.cdmhost.com/index.php
Afterwards, Erin and I discussed future meetings and I suggested we cease the quarterly meetings due to lack of interest. I will continue to update and market the FARRIT page and its contents as time permits but will be re-directing my energies to the iDIG consortium activities as it attempts to create a platform for digital Idaho content throughout the state. I will continue to post to this blog information about changes to the FARRIT pages and to Idaho content at the Boise Public Library.
thanks.
Jim
